Tamil Nadu state government has launched several welfare Schemes for the benefit of poor and underprivileged people. One of the most important  and widely used Scheme is Marriage assistance Scheme for the Poor widow’s daughter. The government of Tamil Nadu wants to help the poor widows during the marriage of their daughter by providing some assistance.

E.V.R.Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme for Daughter’s of Poor Widows is the scheme for providing assistance to widows during the marriage of their daughter.

E.V.R.Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme for Daughter’s of Poor Widows is provided by the government of Tamil Nadu to help the poor widow mothers who face financial hardship during their daughter’s marriage.

This assistance is provided for the widows during the marriage of their daughters. The assistance is provided in the form of two schemes.

  1. Scheme–I  provides Rs.25,000/- (in the form of cheque) + 8 grams gold coin ( 1 sovereign ) of 22 carat will be given for making ‘Thirumangalyam’.
  2. Scheme-II  provides Rs.50,000./- ( in the form of cheque) + 8 grams gold coin ( 1 sovereign) of 22 carat will be given for making ‘Thirumangalyam’

Eligibility Requirements for the E.V.R. Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Poor Widow Daughter’s Marriage Assistance Scheme in Tamil Nadu

The eligibility criteria for those who opt for this assistance under scheme-I will be as follows:

  1. The bride should have passed 10th standard.
  2. In case of Scheduled Tribe, the bride should have studied upto 5th standard.
  3. The income of the family should not exceed Rs.72,000/- per annum.
  4. The Age of the bride should be above 20 years
  5. The bride’s mother should be a widow
  6. The Applicant  should come  from the state of Tamil Nadu

The eligibility criteria for those who opt for this assistance under scheme-II will be as follows:

  1. The bride should be a Degree or Diploma Holder from Government approved colleges.
  2. The income of the family should not exceed Rs.72,000/- per annum.
  3. The Age of the bride should be above 20 years
  4. The bride’s mother should be a widow
  5. The Applicant should come from the state of Tamil Nadu

This E.V.R. Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Poor widow Daughter’s marriage assistance scheme is eligible for the bride who fulfills the above said criteria.

NOTE: This scheme can be made available to only one daughter of poor widow (that is, if the poor widow has more than one daughter, she can able to get this assistance scheme for only one daughter).

1. Death certificate of bride’s father (to be obtained from Corporation /
Municipality)
2. Widow certificate for the bride’s mother (to be obtained from Tahsildar)

3. Income certificate (Annual income less than Rs.72000/- from Tahsildar)
4. Photograph of the applicant (Passport size)
5. Age certificate of the bride (should complete 20 yrs on the date of
marriage)
6. Marriage Invitation
7. Cash bills towards purchase of marriage articles for less than Rs.10000/-

8. Aadhaar card of the widow

9. Address Proof of the widow

10. Filled Application either through online or through prescribed hard copy.

The applicant should fulfill the above said criteria, in order to avail this facility. Only one daughter of poor widow is eligible to avail this benefit. If the applicant fulfill this criteria then they will get the amount of Rs. 25,000/- and 8 Grams of Gold Coin or Rs.50,000/- and 8 grams of Gold coin  based on the education qualification of the bride. The fund will be issued in the form of cheque or demand draft.
