The intercaste marriage assistance is given under name so called,”Dr. MUTHULAKSHMI REDDY NINAIVU INTER-CASTE MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME”.
This assistance is provided for intercaste marriage. The assistance is provided in the form of two schemes.
a) Scheme–I Rs.25,000/- (Rs.10,000/- as National Savings Certificate and Rs.15,000/- by Cash) + 8 grams gold coin ( 1 sovereign ) of 22 carat will be given for making ‘Thirumangalyam’.
b) Scheme-II Rs.50,000/- (Rs.20,000/- as National Savings Certificate and Rs.30,000/- Cash) + 8 grams gold coin ( 1 sovereign ) of 22 carat will be given for making ‘Thirumangalyam’.
Eligibility Requirements for Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter-Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme in Tamil Nadu:
The eligibility criteria for those who opt for this assistance under scheme-I will be as follows:
- The age of bride should not be less than 18 years.
- The age of the bridegroom should less than 21 years.
- No limit for income.
- The bride should have studied 10th Standard (passed) / Bride should have studied up to V Standard in case of Scheduled Tribe
- one spouse should be from Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe and the other from a different Community.
The eligibility criteria for those who opt for this assistance under scheme-II will be as follows:
- The age of bride should not be less than 18 years
- The age of the bridegroom should not be less than 21 years.
- No limit for income.
- The bride should be a Degree or Diploma Holder from Government approved colleges.
- one spouse is from other Community (Forward Community) and the other from the Backward Class / Most Backward Class Community.
Category-I
- The assistance is provided to a married couples of whom one spouse should be from Scheduled caste/Scheduld tribe and the other from a different community..
Category-II
- The assistance is provided to a married couple of whom one spouse is from the Back ward Class /Most Backward Class Community and the other from a different or forward community.

- Community certificate of the bride and the bridegroom.
- Aadhaar card of the bride and the bridegroom
- Birth or Age certificate of the bride
- Copy of Degree / Diploma certificate (For those who apply for the claim under Scheme -II)
- Nativity certificate
- Marriage invitation or Marriage Registration Certificate
- Passport size photo of bride and bridegroom.
