Chennai Metro Rail Limited apart from providing a safe, fast, reliable, accessible, convenient, comfortable, efficient and affordable public transport service provides a Tourist Card to encourage the passengers. This Tourist Card was introduced in the month of September, 2015. This smart card facility features unlimited rides and can be purchased on all days. The Tourist Card can be used from 6 am till 10 pm in a day unlimitedly.
The cards are available in two types.
1. The first type of card is meant for one day purpose.
2. The other type of card is meant for 30 days.
How to use Chennai Metro Tourist Card:
One day card:
This card is valid for only one day. Passengers can avail this Tourist Card from the Ticket counters of the Metro Rail Stations. The cost of the tourist card with unlimited rides is just Rs.100/- (fare) + Rs.50/- (Refundable deposit). The Refund Deposit amount of Rs.50 will be refunded once you surrender the Tourist Card back in Metro Stations after completing the Unlimited Rides. The Tourist Card can be used by a single person only.
30 days card:
This card is valid for 30 days. Passengers can avail this Tourist Card from the Ticket counters of the Metro Rail Stations. The cost of the tourist card with unlimited rides is Rs.2500/- (fare) + Rs.50/- (Refundable deposit). The Refund Deposit amount of Rs.50 will be refunded once you surrender the Tourist Card back in Metro Stations after completing the Unlimited Rides. The Tourist Card can be used by a single person only.
